Ian M. Betts

Ian Betts is an associate at Norvell IP. He advises clients on all aspects of intellectual property law, with emphasis on trademark issues across a range of industries. Ian's practice focuses on worldwide trademark clearance, procurement, enforcement, and portfolio management, as well as trademark and copyright litigation in federal court and before the US Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Ian also has specific experience in the protection and enforcement of brands’ intellectual property rights in e-Commerce on a global scale. He has worked with multiple Fortune 500 companies in efforts to help them protect and maintain their brand equity.

During law school, Ian was the managing editor for the Ohio State Business Law Journal, and graduated with honors in public service for volunteer legal work through various programs. He also externed for the Honorable Thomas E. Hollenhorst on the California State Court of Appeal. Ian was a captain for the Ohio State Men’s Swim team during his undergraduate studies.
